I had my first guide trip of the season on the 21st.  I took my client to Clear Creek.  Although the river was off color, the fish and bugs were cooperating.  Most fish came to a new Baetis imitation I have been tying for a while now, and it definitely proved its worth on this day.  My client brought 12 fish to net and dropped 6 others.  The catching dropped off after lunch, but this was most likely due to the fact that there was high sun, no clouds, and the temperature was over 75 degrees.  We fished dry dropper most of the day and that seemed to be the ticket.  The fish were still concentrated in the deeper/slower water.  Despite the cloudless day, there were quite a few Baetis hatching.  We saw a few risers, but once covered with the dry dropper, they all ate the nymph.
